Terms of use
Last updated 15 October 2026
Framebank is a place for filmmakers to keep and share visual references. These terms are the deal between you and us. They're written to be read.
Framebank is run by Louie Warren in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
Your images are never used to train AI.
Not by us, and not by anyone we work with. We don't sell or license your images or data, and we never will.
1. Your account
- Framebank is invite-only for now. You must be 18 or over to use it. If we find an account belongs to someone younger, we'll close it and delete their data.
- You sign in with Google or an emailed code. Keep access to that email safe, because whoever controls it can get into your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your Profile.
2. Your images stay yours
- You keep every right you have in what you upload. We don't own it.
- You give us a limited permission to store your images, make smaller previews of them and show them to you and the people you share a board with. That's all the permission is for, and it ends when you delete them (after the 30-day undo window).
- We don't look through your boards. We'd only open something if the law requires it, to keep the service secure, or to deal with a report about it.
3. What you can upload
- Only upload images you have the right to use. Your own stills are yours. Frames and photos by other people belong to whoever made them: keep them as private reference for your own work, don't re-publish them, and you're responsible for what you add.
- Keep shared boards to people you actually work with. A board isn't a public gallery.
- Don't upload anything illegal, anything that sexualises minors, intimate images of anyone without their consent, or anything made to harass someone. We'll remove it and close the account.
- Don't try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits of the service.
4. Sharing
- When you invite someone, you choose what they can do: view only, view and download, or edit. Owners can change that or remove people at any time.
- Anyone who can see an image can screenshot it. Only share with people you trust.
- If you transfer a board, the new owner controls it from then on.
5. Copyright complaints
If you think something on Framebank infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with what it is, where you found it and why it's yours. We'll look into it promptly and remove it if the complaint holds up.
6. The service
- Framebank is a young product. We work hard to keep it running and your images safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything you can't lose.
- Each plan has limits (see Pricing), and there are fair-use limits on uploads, shown when you hit them.
- We may change or stop features. If we ever shut Framebank down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice to download your images.
- We can suspend accounts that break these terms. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first.
7. Plans and payments
- Framebank has a Free plan and paid plans (Pro and Student), described on the Pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's own terms apply to your purchase, and they add any VAT or sales tax that applies where you are.
- Cancel any time from your Profile (Manage subscription). You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free. Nothing is deleted: if you have more than the Free plan allows, you just can't add more until you're under it.
- Refunds: you can get a full refund of any payment within 14 days of it, no questions asked. The details are in our refund policy.
- Student plans are for people with a university email, verified in your Profile and checked again each year. If you stop being a student, move to Pro or Free when your verification runs out.
- If we change prices, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price, so you can cancel first.
- Discount codes are ours to give and can't be swapped for cash.
8. Responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of £100 and what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes and law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protections of your local consumer law.
